It was bottled by Napoleon Alexandre & Cie of Paris.
Ancient cognacs tend to perform well at auction, due to their incredible rarity. The record for a cognac in its original bottle was set in 2010, when an 1858 Croizet sold for $156,740 at an auction in China.
