Christie's has announced its sale of Dr Ku's Apothecary Collection, a superb holding of fine wine, to be held on August 31 in Hong Kong.

Dr Gordon Ku is an experienced wine collector and physician, who has been gathering the world's finest wines for over 40 years. Starring from his collection will be 10 bottles of the 2001 Henri Jayer Cros Parantoux, an outstanding red Burgundy, which is valued at $33,500-49,000.
Following its success in the May 2013 wine sale at Christie's, the catalogue will be presented in the "Perfect Pairing" format, which sees the fine wines matched with traditional Chinese recipes from Suiyan Shidan, a cookery book written by Chinese poet Yuan Mei (1716-1797).
