Sports memorabilia collectors have no-doubt snatched up baseball star Ken Griffey Jr.'s autograph on all kinds of objects over the last two decades...
But most are probably unaware that his signature is available on a bottle of wine - and that the wine is his very own.
The highly-collectible unique vintage is called Junior 600, from the Chateau Ste. Michelle.
Wine enthusiasts may like to know that it is actually an Ethos 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - labelled to commemorate Griffey's 600th career home run during the 2008 MLB season.
Griffey, one of baseball's most prolific home run hitters, is signing 600 bottles for collectors and fans in the Seattle area.
Each bottle is expected to sell for $250, with proceeds going to several different charities in the region.
Griffey will host 'Junior 600 night' at 6pm on Sunday at the Safeco Field first base Terrace Club, Seattle, where the limited-edition wine will be unveiled and available for purchase.
There will also be a charity auction of autographed memorabilia from some of Upper Deck's heaviest hitters, including Griffey, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.
For $350, fans can get the autographed wine bottle and a chance to meet Griffey while enjoying food and wine.
There is only one catch: the wine must be picked up in person at the offices of the Seattle Children's Foundation.
Orders can be placed by phone at 206-987-2837. ____________________________________________________________
