Dreweatts are holding a sale of Fine Wines, Port and Champagne on February 25. The wines are almost exclusively in lots of 12 standard bottles and include several highlights for collectors:
Château Latour, 1989 and 1998, first growths in their original wooden cases, are expected to bring £1,500-2,000 for each set of 12 bottles.
Château d'Yquem, 1973 in its original wooden case and wrappings, is also expected to entice £1,500-2,000.

Then there is a set of Château Mouton Rothschild 1989, first growth and once more in its original wooden case. Last weekend, a case of the 1986 vintage of this wine brought $9,400 in Chicago, but this batch has more modest expectations with a guide price of £1,000-1,500.
Other lots include a range of Dow, Warre and other Ports, including two 12 bottle lots of 1983 Warre port expected to bring up to £300 each, and a 12 bottle set of Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin Champagne, worth up to £900.
Although not as potentially lucrative as red wine, well-preserved Port in particular can be a very solid investment. The sale takes place in Berkshire, England.
