Edward Roberts International is limbering up for a live auction of many fine wines, preceded by a tasting session. Those who want to start laying claim to the bottles now, however, can now do so; the auctioneers can now taking internet bids.
The sale will, as we've already mentioned, feature 1961 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion from the Albert D. Williams, Jr. collection. Chateau La Mission has been described as "the quintessential insider's wine" by Master of Wine Jancis Robinson.
1959 Château D'Yquem - a wine which impressed Humphrey Bogart, Lolita author Vladimir Nabokov and even Proust - will also make an appearance.
1959 vintages of Château Palmer and Château Mouton-Rothschild from the Henry Primeaux collection will also feature, alongside an exceedingly rare bottle of 1959 Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle.
The live auction takes place in Chicago. Wine lovers should also be aware that Sotheby's will be holding a great wine auction in Hong Kong on January 23, 2010.
