Charles John Huffman Dickens (1812-1870) is regarded as the greatest English writer of his age.
His broad body of work includes some of the most celebrated novels ever written - including Oliver Twist, Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol.
A handwritten, signed envelope from Charles Dickens.
Addressed to the Reverend James White, a close friend of Dickens' and a fellow writer he much admired.
White was a regular houseguest at Dickens' home, and contributed numerous article to his publication Household Words.
Envelope measures 4.5" by 2.5" and is in fine condition, with some light stains to the edges.
Dickens has addressed the envelope and signs boldly on the front in black ink in the lower left-hand corner.
The envelope has been attractively overmounted beside a photograph of the author at his desk in an overall size 12x8".
