China 1897 2c on 3ca mauve ‘Small Dragon’, small figure surcharge type 13, ERROR SURCHARGE DOUBLE, SG35a.
A fine mint example with large part original gum. The reverse has an ‘underlay’ of black colouring which may be due to previous housing, although the gum is largely intact.
A great Chinese Empire rarity of which only three examples are recorded, this being the finest known.
