- A Marilyn Monroe handwritten and signed personal bank cheque
- Dated July 23, 1953 - the day Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was released in the U.S
A bank cheque dated July 23rd, 1953, filled out and signed by Monroe in blue ballpoint pen ink, made payable to Beverly Hills jeweller Marvin Hime & Co. for the sum of $87.09.
Measures approx. 6x3 inches.
In fine condition, with expected stamps and perforation holes which just touches the highest portion of the signature, a vertical crease which touches the first letter of the signature and a slightly uneven top edge.
The cheque also features Monroe's address of 882 North Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills: the modest three-room apartment she lived in throughout 1953, as she became one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Monroe left the apartment in January 1954 when she married Joe DiMaggio, but returned to live in the building years later in August 1961 after her divorce from Arthur Miller.
A superb piece of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia with a high-quality autograph, and fascinating links to her personal history.
