A very scarce stamp, particularly in such fine condition.
Amoy is situated on an island off the coast of Fukien Province. Shanghai stamps overprinted with “AMOY” were used initially when it was opened to foreign commerce by the Treaty of Nanking in 1842. The Amoy Local Post was established on 1 April 1895.
