A superb used good to huge four margin example lettered 'ML', neatly cancelled by a crisp strike of a black Maltese Cross.
A wonderful used example of the penny black in a condition grade above SG catalogue quality.

Plate 8 was put to press and registered on 31 July 1840. Its earliest known use is 5 September. The plate was destroyed on 8 September 1841.
