A superb unmounted mint with full original gum right hand marginal horizontal pair lettered 'OK-OL' showing part sheet inscription, overprinted "SPECIMEN" type 1.
These "SPECIMEN" examples were used solely by postal administrations for reference purposes to help spot any attempted forgeries.
Accompanied with a 2011 Royal Philatelic Society (RPS) Certificate of a block of four from which this pair was taken.

Plate 90 was registered on 24 May 1849 and put to press shortly thereafter. It was taken from press in early January 1850 and was destroyed on 6 March. The letters from this printing plate are usually clear and clean, but are often misplaced.
