Superb unmounted mint, with full original gum, top left hand corner marginal strip of four lettered 'AA-AD' showing current number "239".
The 9d value was issued for use as the rate at the time to India, Australia and Brazil. The 9d value was withdrawn in 1877.
A magnificent quality Queen Victorian piece.
