The stamp features Sultan Sir Abu Baker, known as a friendly and approachable ruler by his subjects.
These stamps were printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company, London. Following bomb damage to the De La Rue works on 29 December 1940, stamps during 1941 were printed by Harrison and Sons.
