A remarkable full set of 9 to 24ca rose-carmine from the first printing, in blocks of 4.
The 12ca was used by two Customs circular date stamps, and the others by seal cancels from Peking, Shanghai or Tientsin.
The 5ca block shows some creasing and a few others the odd wrinkle, but overall an impressive quality set.
These are rare to find in blocks, the 3ca, 5ca and 9ca to 24ca being commercially used.
The Dowager Empress stamps were the very first commemorative stamps issued by China. They were issued to celebrate the 60th Birthday of the Dowager Empress, one of the most powerful women in the history of China.
