Very fine used imperforate four margin example neatly cancelled by a crisp New Orleans circular date stamp.
Particularly benefits from lovely fresh colour. A very scarce stamp rarely seen in such fine condition.
Only around 150,000 of the Thomas Jefferson 1856 5 cents stamps were printed. They covered the US-British Postal Treaty fee of 5 cents for US mail traveling through Great Britain.
