Superb provenance
The previous owner was part of the Hamburg, West Germany swim and water polo team that travelled to Jamaica in 1979 for a training camp and competition. During the visit the swim team visited Bob Marley at his house in Kingston.
In his letter of authenticity, he writes:
In my youth, I have been a very talented swimmer. In the year 1979 I was a member of the swimming team of my hometown, Hamburg. In this year, the water polo team and the swim team of Hamburg were invited by the Jamaican Swim Association to a training camp and a comparison competition.
During our stay we had the opportunity to visit Bob Marley at his house in Kingston. We talked to Bob, he was very friendly and polite and our water polo team even arranged a soccer game against him and his band. I had bought a few vinyl records at Readers Book Shop in Kingston and asked Bob to sign the covers for me.
On the accompanied photograph you can see me with members of my team and Bob giving the autographs.
Accompanied by a photo of Marley with the swimming and water polo team, and a letter of provenance.
