- An opportunity to own a genuine piece of Marilyn Monroe hair from the most famous day of her life.
Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) needs little introduction. An actress, model and entertainer, she is perhaps the most recognisable of all screen icons.
As such, her memorabilia is highly sought after, and continues to be widely collected across the world.
It was Saturday May 19, 1962 when Marilyn Monroe famously sang Happy Birthday Mr President to John F Kennedy during his 45th birthday celebrations at Madison Square Gardens.
Earlier that day Marilyn visited her hairdresser Robert Freeman Champion at Bergdorf Goodman on New York's Fifth Avenue. This Marilyn Monroe strand comes from that cut.
Mr Champion then accompanied Marilyn backstage at the event in the evening where he refreshed her lip colour, and powdered her nose, before she walked on stage.
The hair has impeccable provenance, originating from Mr Champion's private collection.
This approx. ½ inch strand of Marilyn Monroe's hair is presented on a display card inside a 7" x 7" frame, ready to hang or stand.
Each display is custom-made to order. Due to the nature of the product, hair strands may look slightly different to those pictured.
