- A scarce Muhammad Ali photograph signed as Cassius Clay
- Depicting the 'Phantom Punch' - one of boxing history's most famous moments.
This glossy 10" by 8" colour photograph shows boxing legend Muhammad Ali in his famous May 1965 rematch against Sonny Liston.
It captures the exact moment of the 'Phantom Punch' - the punch that knocked Liston out in the first round after just two minutes.
It remains one of boxing history's most controversial moments, with some speculating the punch wasn't a knockout blow, and that Liston took a dive.
The photograph is in excellent condition.
Ali has signed the photo in bold black felt tip pen using his original name Cassius Clay.
He has also dated the photograph "Feb 24 - 1964", in reference to his first fight against Liston which saw him crowned World Champion against the odds.
Muhammad Ali changed his name in March 1964, to represent his new-found religious faith, but in later years he still occasionally signed for fans as Cassius Clay.
This photograph is believed to have been signed by Ali in the 1980s, two decades after he originally stopped signing as Clay.
As such, this is a scarce and highly desirable autograph from the greatest athlete of the 20th century.
