- An autograph from US five-star general Omar Bradley
Omar Bradley (1893-1981) retains the distinction of being the last man appointed a five-star rank since World War II and the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Upon joining the United States Army, he impressed his superiors and rose through the ranks. Bradley was given command of the 82nd Infantry Division after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour. Until leaving to serve in North Africa, he was given command of the 28th Division.
He partook in the conquest of Sicily in the summer of 1943, and then placed in charge of the 1st US Army. While based in Britain, he assisted with the planning of D-Day.
General Omar Bradley has signed and dedicated this 3.5 x 5 inch album page. It reads: "Best regards to John Kirton, Omar N Bradley."
The note is in pristine condition, the blue ink of the signature crisp and unblemished.
