Orville Wright (1871 - 1948) was one of the Wright Brothers - the pioneering aviators who designed, built and flew the world's first motor-operated airplane.
Their historic flight of the experimental Wright Flyer on December 17, 1903 led the way for the birth of the aviation industry, and changed the world forever.
Orville Wright later worked as a consulting engineer during WWI, served as Chairman of the National Aeronautic Association, and was honoured by numerous universities and organizations around the world.
A partially printed pilot license issued to Vernon Henry Ramsey in 1930, and signed by Orville Wright as the Chairman of the National Aeronautic Association (NAA).
This early document is license number 472, and includes a photograph of the pilot along with embossed blind stamps from the NAA.
Accompanied by an Air Line Pilots Association Temporary Flying Card and a Mechanics Identification Card, issued to Ramsey in 1931 by the Aeronautics Branch of the U.S Department of Commerce.
Pilot license features some mild toning and foxing due to its age, but is in otherwise good condition.
Orville Wright's signature remains in excellent condition, signed clearly in black ink.
