Queen Anne (1665-1714) reigned as Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland between 1702 and 1707.
When England and Scotland were officially united single sovereign state known as Great Britain in 1707, she continued to rule until her death in 1714.
Queen Anne was the last monarch of the House of Stuart, and was succeeded by her second cousin George I of the House of Hanover.
A document signed by Queen Anne in the first year of her reign, approving the appointment of Francis Lindsay to Lieutenant of the Company.
Signed at the head "Anne R." and countersigned by Lord Nottingham (1647-1730). One page, St James's Court, London, 6th July 1702, featuring the royal stamp at the top left corner.
Document measures approx. 14x9.5".
With severe fold creasing, not affecting the signature, surface creasing and a large clip to the top right corner.
