Sarawak 1933 (1 Jan) 25c purple & blue Telegraphs, type Tl 'TELEGRAPHS' diagonal overprinted at Government Printing Office, Kuching on 1927 Revenue issue, SGT4.
A fine used BLOCK OF FOUR, neatly cancelled by complete central strike of ‘TRUSAN' (type D4) circular date stamp, dated '12 OCT 1934' (with the day inserted by a separate handstamp).
Separation between upper pair, but a very rare and desirable multiple.
Provenance: Ex Santer and J.C.B. Fisher who served in the Sarawak Civil Service in the 1930s and was the source of most of the known examples of these stamps, being part of the latter's original block of 16(8x2).
