Curt Swan's original cover art for Action Comics #309, which features an appearance by JFK, realised $112,000 at Hake's Americana and Collectibles on November 21.
The comic features a storyline in which President Kennedy disguises himself as Clark Kent in order to conceal Superman's identity.
Unfortunately, it was scheduled for release just one week after Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, on November 22, 1963.

DC was unable to recall the issue, as the distribution process had been set in motion.
We have a selection of JFK memorabilia available to purchase.
The auction also featured a range of rare Americana, including a Mickey Mouse mechanical bank that made $28,750.
