The Sahara changed hands for $5m in 2009

The 1960s-built vessel has a $2m minimum bid ahead of its auction at Stabbert Maritime, Seattle on September 25, reports the Seattle Post Intelligencer.

The auction forms part of a $4.1m legal settlement against the Sahara's owner, G Shipping, following the death of an employee on the ship in 2010.

G Shipping purchased the vessel for $5m in 2009, but the economic crisis prevented the Sahara from becoming a floating hotel, as intended.
