That's how executive director Charles Chiarchiaro described the Owls Head Transportation Museum's 34th annual New England Auto Auction to local newspaper Bangor Daily News.

The sale of antique, classic and special interest vehicles will be held on August 20 in Owls Head, just sound of Rockland, Maine, United States.

More than 200 highly-valued vehicles will be going under the hammer, among them luxury cars including a 1913 Rambler Touring car and muscle cars like this 1970 Dodge Charger.

Other highlights include a unique top-down 1948 Crosley convertible and a 1987 Ferrari Mondial. The museum has organised extended preview days to meet expected demand from enthusiasts.

Consignments are still invited for the sale, and you have until this Friday August 19 to submit your classic motor to the auction.

As befits "one of the best car shows in New England" plenty of spectators are predicted to turn up on the day, while the sale itself is expected to draw online bids from across the globe.

Fans and collectors of vintage aircraft are also in for a treat with appearance of not one but two vintage biplanes, a 1933 Waco and 1941 Stearman.

That said, Owls Head Transportation Museum will face some completion over the weekend as Gooding & Company's August 20-21 Pebble Beach Auction is also taking place.

Pebble Beach, US, is one of the prime locations to go if you want to see the world's finest automobiles.

Offerings at Gooding & Co's sale including a '$150,000' classic Porsche which has been perfectly preserved for 40 years suggests that this year's event will be no exception.
