President Donald Trump’s 2007 Ferrari F430 has achieved a record $270,000.
The car crossed the block at Auctions America on April 1.
Usually second-hand Ferrari F430s retail for up to around $175,000. This result indicates the value buyers place on the Trump connection.
Donald Trump owned the Ferrari F430 between 2007 and 2011
Trump bought the car from new in 2007 and drove it sparingly, selling it on in 2011 with just over 2,000 miles on the clock.
"It’s well known that President Trump appreciates the finer things in life and this Ferrari F430 is no exception”, a spokesperson for the auction house explained.
"At the time of its release, it was one of the most technologically advanced performance cars on the market.
"To see a former or current President’s personal vehicle offered for sale is extremely rare. It’s highly likely Donald Trump is the only United States President to ever own a Supercar.”
In addition to the car, the new owner will get the original deed with Trump’s signature on it.
There have been several high profile sales of memorabilia connected with Trump since he became president early this year.
A signed bottle of GlenDronach whisky specially selected for his Aberdeenshire golf course and hotel sold for $7,000 in January, while one of his ties realised $7,500 for charity in March.
