A ninth century AD Abbasid, al-Mu'tazz dinar, fashioned from gold used to repair the Makam at Mecca, is valued at £70,000-90,000 ($90,863-116,824).

It's selling at Baldwin's in London on September 28.
The Makam is the stone the prophet Muhammad kneeled behind to pray when he first circled the Kaaba at Mecca - the holiest site in Islam.
In the eighth century the stone was broken and repaired with gold.
In the ninth century the gold was stripped from the Makam by the cash strapped governor of Mecca, who needed dinars to put down a rebellion. This is one of few survivors.
