An ancient Greek electrum stater minted in Kyzikos circa 500 BC sold for £7,680 ($9,978) at Baldwin's London earlier today.

The coin shows a boy riding a dolphin while holding a fish in one hand and is in truly exceptional condition given its enormous age.
It was produced using electrum, an alloy of gold that occurs naturally in Turkey, where the city of Kyzikos stood.
