An Air Force One flight jacket tailored for JFK will appear in a dedicated auction at Guernsey’s on October 7.
The G-1 brown leather bomber features an Air Force One patch over the left breast.
The jacket was made for Kennedy in December 1962
It was made in December 1962, but never worn by the president. Kennedy was assassinated less than a year later.
The jacket is consigned from the collection of Lieutenant Hirschy, supply and logistics officer at the White House between 1961 and 1965.
It’s valued at up to $80,000.
In 2013, a near identical Air Force One jacket that JFK actually wore sold for $570,000.
We have this genuine strand of John F Kennedy’s hair for sale.
