A rare original animation cel from the Popeye the Sailor short Let's You and Him Fight (1934) sold for $12,714 at RR Auction on August 21.

The lot is one of only 10 surviving cels from the episode, which sees Popeye and Bluto square off in a boxing match, and is among the finest examples dating to the show's early years.
The series premiered in theatres for Paramount Pictures in 1933 and quickly became hugely popular.
