Heritage Auction Galleries' Signature Vintage Movie Poster Auction begins in Dallas today (March 25), with a range of items sure to be of interest to film memorabilia collectors and investors.
A 1938 Universal poster advertising Dracula is among the pick of the lots. With a high end estimate of $70,000 for this fine+ graded piece, bidding is expected to be fierce.
The green tinted sheet was unknown for many years and no other examples of its type have emerged, making its very uniqueness a potential selling point for investors.
The 27 by 41 inch poster depicts Hungarian actor Bela Lugosi in typically unnerving form. Despite some minor tears to the borders the specimen is in remarkably good condition, thanks in part to a recent professional restoration job.
Carrying on with the horror theme is a 1938 Universal poster depicting the Frankenstein movie. It has an estimated top end value of $60,000.

A more cuddly option for collectors could be a Mickey Mouse poster produced by United Artists in 1932. It is expected to achieve $38,000.
An extremely rare 1935 Universal Werewolf of London half sheet movie poster made $47,800 at a Heritage event in November last year.
