An original poster for Gilda (1946), starring Glenn Ford and Rita Hayworth, has sold for $77,675 at Heritage Auctions.
The lot headlined a sale of vintage movie posters in Dallas on March 23.

Hayworth gave an incandescent performance as the titular Gilda and the film remains enormously popular among critics and audiences up to the present day.
The poster depicts the actress holding a cigarette and has been professionally restored with touch-ups to chips in the corners.
It is the highly desirable style B example, among the rarest issued for the film's release.
A three sheet poster for the 1947 reissue of Tod Browning's Dracula (1931) made $71,700.

Posters for the film's second re-release are extremely rare, with this example thought to be unique. It features a strong image of Lugosi and has been painstakingly restored to its original condition.
A poster for Casablanca (1942), regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, sold for an identical sum of $71,700.
The sheet is the much coveted style B variety, which shows a host of the major characters from the film in addition to Bogart and Bergman.
It was offered in original condition and last sold in the 1970s.
