The piano was formerly housed in Twickenham Studios where the band were filming and was also used during the composition of Yesterday - one of their most enduring songs.
Director Richard Lester, who worked with the band on the movie, commented that upon receiving the go-ahead to use "Help!" as the film's title, the band started work on the song "immediately at the studio using the Bechstein piano and continued working on it on their car journey home and throughout that evening."
