Reggie Jackson jersey pulled from SCP Auctions' sale

Reggie Jackson has been left heart broken after it was discovered that the jersey he consigned to SCP Auctions' latest sale was not worn during the 1977 World Series when he famously hit three home runs.

It was Game Six of the 1977 World Series that Jackson hit three home runs, earning the nickname Mr October

It was hoped the jersey would raise more than $100,000 for Jackson's Mr October Foundation for Kids, and his family, but has been pulled after memorabilia experts noticed that the pinstripe alignment was off.

It is believed that the example at auction is the jersey that Jackson wore just after the game, but not actually on the pitch. The star lost much of his career memorabilia during a house fire, and is said to be heart-broken.

"For 35 years, that jersey has been in a frame. It doesn't make sense. It broke my heart," he told the New York Post.
