Waddington's online pocket watch auction has been running all week (beginning Monday, March 15).
Among the most sought-after artefacts is this Patek Philippe & Co Openface Pocket Watch, circa 1904, weighing 72.3g.
Signed "Tilen-Thurber Co - Providence" on its case and movement, the Patek has an 18 jewel adjusted movement with wolf tooth gearing.

Contained in an 18k yellow gold case decorated with blue enamel, this exceptional timepiece carries an estimate of $6,000-8,000.
The pocket watch represents a bargain investment for collectors on the look-out for a luxury, historic Patek. At last week's Antiquorum sale in New York, a Patek Philippe Ref 3970 sold for $142k.
