A 1914 bottle of Bollinger Champagne will star at Sotheby's Finest and Rarest Wines auction in New York on November 19.
|
The century old bottle was one of around 600 discovered in a hidden room in Bollinger's cellar in Ay in 2010.
It's thought they were hidden from the German army during world war two and forgotten about in the chaos of the 1940s.
It's offered with an opening bid of $10,000.
The winning bidder will be given a tour of Bollinger's Galerie 1829 Champagne library, a tasting session, a stay at the Chateau Les Crayeres in Reims and dinner with the house's president, Jerome Philipon.
We expect it to sell for several times its opening price.
