Acker Merrall & Condit saw outstanding bids in its March 21-22 Hong Kong wine auction, with 1999 Henri Jayer Cros Parantoux leading the sale to a total of $4.5m.

A rare case of the legendary Burgundy, produced on a tiny estate by master winemaker Henri Jayer, sold for $82,333, while two magnums of the same vintage made $25,333.
Rousseau also saw heated bids, with three bottles of the 1961 Rousseau Chambertin making $9,500. Alongside Rousseau, a jeroboam of 2000 Dujac Clos de la Roch made $3,167, while a full case of 12 bottles from the 2005 vintage sold for $7,600.
The sale is encouraging for the Chinese wine market, with robust bids pushing values higher, yet not unsustainably so, as seen during the now-infamous Bordeaux bubble of 2011, from which the market has yet to fully recover.
