15 cases of 2009 La Mission Haut Brion have topped Hart Davis Hart's March 24 auction in Chicago, beating the $135,000 estimate by 9.3%.

The auction saw strong bids overall, as collectors bought every lot to realise a 100% sell through rate. The 15 cases brought $147,563.
The cases of La Mission Haut Brion were part of a consignment of parcels of 2009 Bordeaux from the Wine Trust Collection, which should show good investment potential once the ailing market for Bordeaux returns to its former glory.
California wines also proved popular, with three bottles of the rare 1997 Screaming Eagle selling for $13,145, up 19.5% against a $7,000-11,000 estimate, while a case of the 2007 Scarecrow sold for $10,755 - another 19.5% increase.
