A vertical collection of Macallan whiskies from 1954-1986 is poised to sell for up to $90,200 at Bonhams.
The lot will cross the block in a sale dedicated to the distillery that runs from February 17 to March 10.
Macallan has a global reputation as the best whisky on the market.
This vertical collection features 33 bottles produced between 1954 and 1986
In 2014, six litres of Macallan M – a blend of seven of the distillery’s finest drams in a Lalique-designed decanter – sold for a record $628,000.
Scotch whisky is proving increasingly popular in Asia, and China in particular, where it is seen as a status symbol.
This has dramatically pushed up values across the board, as buyers compete for the most prestigious brands and vintages.
The online-only sale will also feature single bottles, with a 1946 52-year-old Selected Reserve valued at $9,664-12,241.
It was bottled in 1998 and comes presented in a wooden box, with a certificate and a key.
Daniel Lam, Bonhams' head of wine and whisky in Hong Kong, said: "We are very excited about this new sale – the first online-only whisky sale for Bonhams worldwide.
“We opted to sell bottles from one distillery only and in The Macallan I think we have chosen the best.
“I believe both the selection, and this innovative way of selling whisky at auction, will have broad appeal among whisky collectors.”
