Profiles in History is to sell a collection of artefacts from The Sacred Cow (the original Air Force One).
The Sacred Cow took FDR to the 1945 Yalta Conference
The plane carried President Franklin D Roosevelt to the 1945 Yalta conference. It was also used by Harry S Truman during his presidency.
This collection includes flight patches worn by the plane’s engineer Fred Winslow, including one displaying its jokey logo.
There are also materials from subsequent Air Force One planes, including matchboxes from the Independence and the Columbine II & III.
The lot is valued at $2,000-3,000 ahead of a sale at Profiles in History on June 8.
